REBECCA’S
REVIEW
I do not tape my lids shut anymore
(thankfully). I alternate between Tranquileyes, Onyix and a
Silhouette sleep mask depending what I feel like and
need.
However, I occasionally come across people
with exposure issues at night who either can't wear moisture
goggles or don't get enough benefit from them, or who can't even
wear bandage contacts at night. Tape really is necessary
sometimes.
Amongst the tapes I have tried, this
Micropore tape was the hands-down winner - at any rate, in a
lesser-of-various-evils kind of way! It does not agree with
everyone - some people can't tolerate paper tapes. I just like the
adhesive better on this tape better because it isn't nearly so
bothersome to my skin - easier to remove and doesn't leave
irritation behind.
I sell 1" wide tape. You can also find this
tape in 1/2" width but I found it very difficult to get my eye
securely shut with that kind.
Last time I used this tape myself, when I
removed it, I had to take it slow and careful, pulling downwards,
and though there was a very slight rawness after removing it in the
morning, it was very brief. I had no residue that I could feel, but
I used my Ocusoft foam lidscrub in the shower anyway, and after
that the lid I'd taped felt perfectly normal. The other tapes I
have tried left me feeling sticky and uncomfortable to a point
where I simply could not imagine using them on a daily
basis.
By the way, if you've got a tape you really
like, please drop me a line! I'd love to test it out and let others
know.
