![]() Dreamer sleep mask$24.50 -- Classic, comfortable, attractive high-end sleep mask. Choice of several colors.Click on picture for inside view. PRODUCT FEATURES • Silky exterior PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The Dreamer is Dream Essentials' signature sleep mask, cushioned and contoured to block light and air effectively. Compared to the more barebones Silhouette,it is larger and more thickly padded to block light (and more importantly for us, airflow) more effectively. Other enhancements include a silky front side and the "Comfort Snug" which is a more advanced and very comfy sort of strap. Cushioned and contoured, it blocks light and air effectively. REBECCA’S REVIEW The first mask I tried by Dream Essentials was the Silhouette and I was pleased enough with it that I decided to check out the others by this manufacturer. Functionally, at first I found this not too different from the Silhouette but on taking a closer look there are differences which could make a material difference in performance or comfort for many users. The whole mask is larger (longer) and feels considerably more padded. The pad that extends along the lower seam is quite a lot thicker and perhaps an inch and a half longer than the Silhouette. Then there is the strap. Clearly there is a range of preferences in method of securing a sleep mask. While the Silhouette and Opulence models have a simple elastic and velcro strap (usually preferred by people who want a pretty snug fit) the Dreamer has a stretchy fabric wrap - rather more like the Tranquileyes wrap BUT with a velcro adjustable end, which I think is a great design. The eye side is soft cotton knit, comfortable without shedding. Personally, I have found that this style of sleep mask can help me keep my lids closed if I hitch it up a bit so that part of the bridge just rests lightly on the lowest part of my top lids. (However, please don't take that as a recommendation for a way to keep lids closed... there are other more appropriate products for that, and if you need any help finding them don't hesitate to call.) I think the Dreamer is an excellent choice for people who for whatever reason can't use Tranquileyes or who want a low-hassle alternative for home or travel. Who am I? My name is Rebecca Petris and I have had chronic dry eye since undergoing LASIK in July 2001. I founded The Dry Eye Company as a result of my experiences, hoping to make useful information and effective products more accessible to others with dry eye. I try out all products in our store before listing them (with the exception of nutritional supplements, for practical reasons).
