![]() Dry Vites$20.00 -- Recommended replacement for Dry Vites: Barleans Total Omega. Click on picture (left) for details.IMPORTANT NOTICE for DRY VITES fans Dry Vites are being discontinued for the time being. I really liked this product (I used it personally for upwards of a year), but the supplier raised the price to a point I felt did not offer sufficiently good value for our customers. I'm investigating some alternative providers and will let you know via our regular new product updates if/when we re-instate Dry Vites. Meantime, we checked out a number of "ready-made" alternative sources, looking for an equally convenient blend of fish and flaxseed oils with the low vitamin E content users sought Dry Vites for, and looking also for higher EPA/DHA contents, all hopefully at a reasonable monthly cost. As a result, I have a couple of recommendations for longtime DRY VITES fans: 1) A blended oil from Barleans called Total Omega. Like Dry Vites, Total Omega is a blend of fish oil and flaxseed oil, but also contains borage oil which many eye doctors also strongly recommend to dry eye patients (particularly those with aqueous tear deficiency). Some of the things we most appreciate about Barleans Total Omega are the high EPA and DHA values, the low Vitamin E, and the reasonable pricing - besides the fact that we really like Barleans in general (they are a family-run company in Washington State with celebrated fresh oils). At $20 for a month's supply, this is slightly more expensive than Dry Vites ($20 for 40 days) but based on the content/concentration and quality, still quite a good deal. 2) If you're not hung up on the convenience of a blended oil, my second recommendation would be to choose a Barleans flax and fish oil and purchase them separately. You can get their classic, top-selling Lignan Flax Oil for $8.75 and Fresh Catch signature fish oil for $11 so again staying in the same price range of about $20/month. Save more if you go with multiple bottles (see our discounts guide) and even more if you go for the larger packaging, since we also offer free shipping. I hope you will be as pleased with Barleans quality and value as I am! Check out their website at barleans.com, and ask your local health food store about them too. Many corneal specialists recommend Barleans oils.
