PRODUCT FEATURES

• Formulated for mild to moderate dry eye
• Popular, soothing, versatile dry eye drop
• Enhanced with Vitamin B12

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

NutraTear's distinctive pinkish tint (that's why we call it "The Remarkably Red Eyedrop") is attributable to the added Vitamin B12 and does not stain. NutraTear is well suited for relieving dry eye symptoms caused by Computer Vision Syndrome, work environments, climate, age and medications. It is a surprisingly versatile product - intended for mild to moderate dry eye, but popular with a wide range of users including people with severe chronic dry eye.

REBECCA’S REVIEW

This is my faaaav drop for daytime use and I reckon it always will be. It's totally different in feel from Dakrina and Dwelle. Much lighter weight, for one thing, closer to what you'd expect in an over-the-counter drop, but much smoother feeling - glides over the eye rather than having a more watery sort of effect. NutraTear is what I keep by the computer and in the car and in my pocket at the park. Don't be scared by the pink color. The pink is from the Vitamin B12 and drains out almost immediately (and does not stain). I couldn't begin to explain what that actually does, but whatever it is, it sure feels good. I particularly like NutraTear for anytime I start to get itchiness or excessive mucus.

When I find myself using NutraTear too frequently, or if I get any burning from it, that is my signal to go back to Dwelle or Dakrina for a little while.

July 2007 update: I have been wearing Boston scleral lenses for more than a year now. If you don't know what those are, look them up on www.dryeyezone.com. In brief, they are a sort of extra large gas permeable lens that covers most of the eye and holds liquid against the cornea all day long. They are used in treatment of certain corneal diseases including severe dry eye. I use them because I have damaged vision as well as dry eye and cannot see with glasses. Anyway, since I wear sclerals I do not need a dry eye drop per se during the day... except a drop to keep the top side of the sclerals lubricated. I am using the NutraTear "off-label" (it is not FDA approved for this purpose so do not do this unless you have explicit approval from your doctor) as the lubricant for my sclerals. I am just mentioning this because it affect how I use the drops, and because people who read about my scleral experience on Dry Eye Talk often wonder about how I use the drops.

Who am I? My name is Rebecca Petris and I have had chronic dry eye since undergoing LASIK in July 2001. I founded The Dry Eye Company as a result of my experiences, hoping to make useful information and effective products more accessible to others with dry eye. Each product in this store has been personally tested and approved by me. For a list of my top favorites – the items I use on a daily basis myself – click here.
