PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Wiley-X's Climate Control series, like other sealed wraparounds, was developed for the biker and skier markets but is also very well adapted for use as "moisture chamber glasses" by chronic dry eye patients. The foam gaskets maintain an excellent seal, keeping in moisture and keeping out irritants.

REBECCA’S REVIEW

Overall assessment: Excellent value for the money. Panoptx still has the edge in comfort and fit of the eyecup, and perhaps frame styling, but Wiley has a distinct edge in visual experience for outdoors and is also a much more attractive pricepoint for indoors use ($135 vs. $199 for light-adjusting lenses in most styles; $80 vs $125 for a basic dark lens). Wiley's foam-lined gasket in this newest series is of good quality, fits pretty snugly, seems to fit and wear well, and can easily be replaced when the foam wears out.

Personal experience: I love both Wiley-X and Panoptx and use both regularly. I think of my Panoptx as the "luxury" model and Wiley-X as my workhorses - I have found them indispensable for outdoor use and driving.

As regards the AIRBORNE style in particular, this was newly released in 2008. I like the look and fit. It's very similar to the new Panoptx Bali in terms of the overall look, lens size and shape, and temple design.
