WHAT REBECCA SYAS
I
love this product. Never used to think I'd need something like
this. I have very sensitive eyes & eyelids and find most
cleansers irritating, so for years I just used saline and a q-tip.
Also, the "pre-moistened pad" type lidscrubs irritate my lids
(anything papery does) though I know many people prefer those as
they are simpler, less messy to use.
I
have not been needing lid scrubs lately but I used to keep a bottle
of it in my shower and use it every morning. It's very gentle with
a silky sort of feeling when it gets on my lids. I used to stand
with my eyes closed under the showerhead and led the hot water run
on them for a bit, then I get some of the foam on my fingertips and
gently massage my lids, especially all around my
lashes.
If
you've got active blepharitis this may not be adequate - you may
need an antibacterial of some sort. Talk to your doctor, because
sometimes an antibacterial ointment or other Rx may be
needed. (Incidentally if you've been using baby shampoo
unsuccessfully for a long time, it's time to move on to something
more sophisticated. Baby shampoo can be very irritating and can
destabilize the tear film.) Ocusoft Lidscrub Plus is a good choice
(and Sterilid, also sold here, is another medicated type) - some
wipe their lid margins with the pre-moistened pads daily and others
use the foam. I used to use the Plus foam once a week and the
regular foam the rest of the time till I didn't feel I needed the
Plus anymore.
