Shipping Policy
| The Dry Eye Shop Shipping Policy | X |
TURNAROUND TIME: If you need to
have certainty about when your order is shipping, please put a note
on the order (or send an email marked "URGENT" to
service@dryeyeshop.com.
Normally I ship orders within 24 hours. Now and then I skip a day.
But I can almost always accommodate emergencies.
BACKORDERS: If your order contains one or more
backordered items, I will normally wait for the backordered item(s)
and ship all items together unless you call, email or put a note on
your order to make other arrangements. If there is an item I am not
expecting to have in stock for more than a week, I might just go
ahead and ship your other items and ship the backordered item(s)
when available without extra shipping charges via the least
expensive method. For non US orders, there will always be a 2nd
shipping charge if I have to ship it in two batches.
SHIPPING METHODS and COSTS: Please use the
shipping calculator in the shopping cart to review
our shipping options and determine exact shipping charge for
each of these services. Our shipping methods may change from time
to time as we try to find ways to offer the best service and value.
We are happy to accommodate special shipping requests so just give
us a call or put a note on your order if you would like a shipping
method that is not offered when you place your order online, e.g.
Fedex, UPS, etc.
WE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS: Shipping to APO
addresses is FREE regardless of order size.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
We offer USPS shipping: Express Mail International,
Priority Mail International, and First Class International. On
request we can ship via Fedex International as well. If you want
that, call or put a note on your order and we'll get a quote and
confirm with you before proceeding.
Here are some notes to help you determine which shipping
method to choose. Please bear in mind that
the Post Office provides only ESTIMATED shipping times and they
will not refund the shipping charges under any circumstances so
long as the package eventually arrives.
EXPRESS MAIL INTL. is supposedly the fastest but it is
not guaranteed! In some countries it is tracked door to door but
not all and I can't tell you for sure whether you'll have complete
tracking on the order. Ideally, this is 3-5 business days but
caution... I've had one or two bad experiences with
it.
PRIORITY MAIL INTL. is not officially trackable BUT in
some countries it actually does get tracked via the customs number.
If you look at the tracker and the package seems to have stopped in
New York or San Francisco, it's because they are NOT tracking it
beyond that. Priority Mail is typically supposed to get there
within 7-10 business days. In my experience, it can sometimes be
quite fast (within the week) to England and Australia, but I've had
slow experiences with it too.
FIRST CLASS INTL. is a pretty good service. It takes one
to three weeks, usually. It's a good
deal. However, there is no
tracking, so don't bother emailing/calling to find out where it
is. If you try to track
it with the tracking number on your shipping notice, it will only
tell you the steps it took till it left the US. I use First Class
for the vast majority of my international shipments. A bit slow,
but since there's no guarantee on the other services, there's not
much point paying for them unless you're in a hurry and willing to
take the risk.
DON'T FORGET
CUSTOMS: Items purchased
here may be dutiable in your country. Any duties are your
responsibility. Please be aware of this and if you have questions
please check with your local post office or customs authority prior
to placing your order. I DO NOT ACCOMMODATE REQUESTS TO FALSIFY
INVOICES, ever. I am happy to modify descriptions to make them more
customs-friendly (for example, rice baggies can be mistaken for
food items in some countries so I can label it as a heat pack) but
the price you paid is the price the customs paperwork will
show.

Return Policy
| The Dry Eye Shop Return Policy | X |
I'm generally fairly flexible with
returns, refunds and exchanges. In return I expect all customers to
have the courtesy to read and follow my return policy (see
link in the shopping cart).
Many (but not all) products can be
returned for exchange, credit or full or partial refund.
Specifics depend on the
product. Some are noted below. If you need to know the
policy for a specific product before purchasing, just
ask.
Please bear the following in
mind:
- DO NOT JUST PACK
THINGS UP AND SEND THEM BACK WITH A NOTE.
:-)
- Please consult your doctor before, not
after, making your purchase.
- Please call or email me with your
questions about the product BEFORE purchasing. I can probably help
you rule out things that are likely to not be right for
you.
- Eyedrops and other consumable
products (lid scrubs, etc) may not be returned unless they arrive
damaged. Please, purchase only what you can afford rather than
trying to sample products for free at my expense.
- Eyewear (i.e.
glasses/sunglasses/daytime goggle type products) may not fit you
and so returns are fairly common. For a full refund, they
MUST be in perfect condition (ready for resale) for a
full refund. In other words, try them on and see if they fit well,
and if they don't, send them back rather than taking them for an
extended test drive. If the glasses are soiled or used, I may not
be able to refund them or I may deduct from the refund to cover the
cost of replacing the foam eyecup. If at all possible, it's really
better for you to make your eyewear purchases locally at a dealer.
There's no substitute for trying on your eyewear before buying. If
you need help finding a dealer let me know.
- If you had free shipping on your order, I
will deduct the shipping cost from your refund.
- You are responsible for return shipping in
all cases UNLESS I've sent you the wrong item by accident or your
item arrived damaged or is defective. In those cases I will send
you the replacement along with a return label to send back the
original.
- If for some reason you need your refund
immediately, let me know at the time you get your return form so
that I can try to keep an eye out for it. Otherwise, please allow
some time. I don't have staff and I pick up returns from the PO not
more than once a week.
- When you send things back, please, package
them up decently so that their outer packaging doesn't get all
banged up. Thanks!
If something did not work out for you,
consider returning it as a contribution to my giveaways supplies
(items I keep for people who cannot afford to buy).

use

• Available in tortoise or red (new styles) OR pink/white (one of
the original styles with an ever-so-slightly smaller

REBECCA'S
REVIEW
I first learned about these when one of our members
posted about them on Dry Eye Talk. I immediately ordered a pair and
tried them on. My first reaction was that they were a cheap
knockoff of the Panoptx Viento or Cyclone frame (the one
with the non-removeable foam seal). It's quite a comfortable frame
and I was honestly impressed that they could do that well for
twenty bucks. Big thumbs up from me.
And since that time it's become one of our most popular
eyewear products. Best cheap moisture chamber I've ever come
across, overall.
BEST USES: Home office, all the way! Computer, reading,
TV, gardening, taking walks, jogging. In a pinch use them at
your away-office too, though you might get some
smiles.
LIMITATIONS: No darkened lenses; no prescription; one
size fits all; must replace whole goggle (foam isn't replaceable).
The way it fits it's either a good fit or a bad fit, not much in
between. They are more likely to fit women than men though I do
have many men customers who use them.
CONSIDER ALSO: Dustbuster.
IS THE EYECUP LATEX FREE? Yes. The foam eyecup is
polyurethane lined with polyester.
CAN I PUT PRESCRIPTION LENSES IN THEM? No.
Who
am I? My name is Rebecca Petris and I have had
chronic dry eye since undergoing LASIK in July 2001. I founded
The Dry Eye
Company as a result of my experiences, hoping to make useful
information and effective products more accessible to others with
dry eye.
