PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
ThermoEyes
HEAT INSERTS enhance the benefits of tranquileyes Eye Hydrating
Therapy. The inserts utilize a reusable, self-heating, gel pack
specifically designed to fit within the eye cover of the
tranquileyes goggle. Covered with a ThermoPad, a thin white foam
pad you soak in warm water, ThermoEyes creates a warm, humid
environment for the eyes and prevents the evaporation of natural
and artificial tears. The enhanced therapeutic environment will
last over an hour.
Note:
tranquileyes goggles are sold separately.
Directions (moist heat therapy)
1. Place
ThermoPads in warm filtered or distilled water and let soak.
2. Remove
ThermoEyes gel packs from package and snap the metal disk back and
forth several times to activate the heat.
3. Once the
ThermoEyes HEAT INSERTS start generating heat, insert one into each
tranquileyes eye cover and press into the eye cover.
4. Remove
ThermoPads from water, squeeze out excess moisture and place over
activated ThermoEyes. (Note: ThermoPads are used instead of, not in
addition to, the regular foam inserts.)
5. Place
goggles over the eyes and gently pull the headband over the back of
your head to secure.
6. Wear up to
60 minutes.
Reactivation
The ThermoEyes
gel packs will harden after it has been activated to generate heat.
It will need to be ‘reactivated’ after every use when using them to
generate heat (ThermoEyes can be reactivated hundreds of
times).
To reactivate
the heating mechanism, place the ThermoEyes gel packs in boiling
water. Once they have returned to their liquid state (approximately
five minutes), remove from boiling water with spatula and place on
towel to cool.
After
ThermoEyes have cooled completely, they are ready to reuse
(typically 15 minutes).
Materials
ThermoEyes are
non-toxic. Each gel pack contains a stainless steel disc and sodium
acetate, a safe food-grade salt ingredient.
REBECCA’S REVIEW
About
Thermoeyes in general: Using the Thermoeyes with the
tranquileyes goggle is a really good idea for people who want to
give tired dry eyes a luxurious sort of spa treatment. Between the
warmth and the very high humidity level, it just feels really good
and rejuvenating. I'd recommend it for nightly use or just to keep
around for "bad eye days". A good pampering item.
Hassle
factor? You need to be ready to put some effort into it if
you're going to use these daily. The inserts have to be boiled and
cooled after each use before they can be re-activated. Some people
have found it handy to buy several pairs and boil them all together
so they only have to do it every several days.
Personal
experience: Thermoeyes is a very nice, soothing
addition to the Tranquileyes goggle. I don't use this very often
personally (don't have the time) but I enjoy them when I do.
Regular Thermoeyes or
Thermoeyes Beads? If you are new to Thermoeyes and trying to
choose between them, and want this specifically for
blepharitis/MGD, go for the beads. You have more control over the
temperature and they keep heat longer. Be careful though not to get
them hot enough to hurt your lids.
