Our Mission: Service
(This is copied from the introduction to our employee manual.)
The mission of the Dry Eye Company is to help improve quality of life for people suffering from dry eye diseases. This applies equally to the retail business (DryEyeShop), informational websites and blogs, and support groups.
In the DryEyeShop retail business context, this means that the measure of success in every aspect of our operations—sales, customer service, purchasing and inventory, order fulfillment, internet store design and maintenance, finance and administration, social media presence—is the resulting nature, quality, and reach of the service that we provide. Real success is something no P&L or balance sheet can validate for us. Client feedback alone can tell us how we’re doing.
Any company can sell people stuff. Not every company has the opportunity to reach beyond that, to discover and meet real needs, and to relieve suffering. If there is a reputation we aspire to as a company, it’s to be remembered by our clients as the people who listened, understood their needs, cared, and HELPED them. Profits come and go. We reach for the satisfaction of making a difference in people's’ lives.
